The Fella and I spent our Valentine's Day Friday with the ever lovely
Her Internationally known burlesque review, Strip Strip Horray had a three night stint at the Sunset House of Blues. What a wonderful kaleidoscope of entertainers!
(Note: there was strictly NO photography allowed. Please excuse my lackluster iPhone photos!)

"Will you Marry Me?"
It's hard to see, but MC, Murray Hill usually holds a "Dance Off". Here, Geri is in front. She literally pee'd her pants (I mean, literally) during her dance. It was so hilarious and she was such a good sport about it! To tell you the truth, I was almost peed myself watching!
Curtain Call!
The show itself was amazing, as always. Please visit, Just Jared's exclusive look at the show.
Pros:
I always pay more for VIP because we have a separate, NO WAITING entrance. For a 90 minute show, you really can't pay enough for seating, WITH a good view (while wearing 5 inch heels). We were actually taken by a employee to our table! I thought this was such a nice touch. We also had our own waitress who constantly made sure we had enough to eat and drink. The show is always so much fun. Even though I've seen the show numerous times, I was between laughing and complete awe the entire time. And you just can't beat going blind by Dita's costumes, which usually boast over 300,000 Swarovski crystals.
Cons:
It was SO HOT in there (no pun intended). I know it was a little chilly in Los Angeles, but I was boiling.
The last time I saw her, the other performers did two shows, and Dita did four. There were twice as many performers, so there was only one performance each. I don't know if I really liked that. I felt like I didn't get enough of them.
My only other con is: I wanted to purchase a meet-and-greet ticket (even though in the past Dita has met with us dita.net members afterwards just through an email). When I went to look into it, the meet-and-greet had to be purchased separately and would have added almost 500.00 to our night. I just couldn't justify spending that much on top of our VIP tickets (and cocktails).
With that being said, a good friend, and fellow Dita.net member purchased the ticket. It came with a professional picture with Dita and a goodie bag with a signed copy of the program and her Dita Von Teese perfume (to name a few items, I believe more came with it). She had a really great experience and received her photo via email a few days later.
I urge you to see Dita at least once (and multiple times) in your life. I've been a HUGE fan since the late 90's. Her shows keep getting better and seeing her in the flesh is just beyond.
Dita will be performing at Gramercy Theater in New York City, March 6-9. Tickets are only available on the 8th and 9th as of the posting of this blog!

Soooooo very jealous! Dita cannot be beat. I'm certain of that. I didn't know she did much touring, though, but haven't looked into it much. I have her on dvd, and it makes me happy just thinking about it. But live? Oh hell, that sounds fantastic!
ReplyDeleteShe did her first semi-national tour last year. But, usually she's in L.A., NYC and in Europe. You should sign up for her newsletter at dita.net to stay up to date with her.
DeleteWOWOWOWOW!!! What a show that must have been and you all looked amazing!
ReplyDeleteDita has such a fun sense about her. For her rhinestone cowgirl, she has a pink rhinestone'd cactus and sparkle tumbleweed!
DeleteI had a blast at the show valentines night.!!! I love all her charactors- I am glad I finally got to see the opium den number. Also gal ur red hairs amazing!! I miss mine ;( it's been gone for a few years now! Are you going to viva??? Hope to see you there.
ReplyDeleteI'll be there! It's actually my first time!
DeleteI really hope she performs in Australia soon! She must be so amazing to see live! She's in the country at the moment for Cointreau promotions I believe... I saw her on one of our morning shows today. Great post and photos!
ReplyDeleteShe's been doing so much business in AUS. So fun to see her on the TV!
DeleteWow! Your so lucky, I love Dita. Next time she comes to the UK I will be there :) I have a friend who knows Dita quite well and she always says how lovely and personable she is, which I think is fabulous to know.
ReplyDeleteLove your hat by the way!

Keep your eyes peeled. She does quite a bit of events or Cointetreau there.
DeleteOoooh I want to see her!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe performed in SF last year. Maybe on her next tour if you aren't in London.
DeleteI'm a huge Dita fan also, have yet to see one of her shows, they are never close enough to the Midwest. I have met her though, at her first book signing, she was very nice and gorgeous as usual.
ReplyDeleteI've only ever met her once. I worked onset with her as the Special Effects makeup artist. I painted tire marks ok the models. She was so nice! I was already a huge fan too.
DeleteYou ladies all look so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHow envious am I that you were able to attend her show and particular so because it wasn't your first show.
Maybe one day... maybe in Vegas or NYC.
HRF
HRF, hopefully she'll come back to the Crazy Horse at the MGM. That show was SO GOOD! I've seen her perform so many times! It's been so fun to watch her shows get bigger and more polished!
DeleteLucky gal!!!! I was also at a burlesque show this week-end but not with Dita... The only time she perform in France it was at Crazy Horse Paris but tickets were so expensive and most guests was famous french stars....
ReplyDeletePerhaps one day...
I am green with envy!!! All of you ladies looked gorgeous and looking at all of the empty glasses it looks like you had yourselves a fabulous time :D
ReplyDeleteAhhh! I am so jealous! This looks like so much fun, and you girls look fantastic!! Hopefully, I'll be able to see her at least once; I've seen clips, but I'd love to see her live!
